UMW Sisterhood Circle

The Sisterhood Circle meets every third Monday of the month at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall unless a member prefers to have the meeting in their home.  The main dish for dinner is usually provided by the hostess with different circle members volunteering to bring sides so we don't have to cook every time!  We swap a LOT of recipes!  This circle also maintains a private Facebook Page to keep it's members updated on meeting and program updates and just provide some general encouragement.  In 2017 we did dedicated studies but in 2018 are going to vary the programs each month so anyone coming in new won't be at a disadvantage

June Meeting

At the June Sisterhood meeting, Jenny Odom, Executive Director of the Pregnancy Test and Resource Center gave a wonderful program on the resources they provide.  What a gift this is to our community and so many of us are not really knowledgeable about what all they do for the ladies and families they serve.  Hostesses Chapman Blanton and Rebecca Harris provided a scrumptious meal and such fun decorations.

April Meeting

Wonderful program presented by Gene Ann Jimmerson (our own Martha Ann Lockhart's daughter) on faith through tragedy at our April meeting. Fabulous salad supper provided by hostesses Jane and Martha Ann and look who won the door prizes!  Awesome fellowship, as always.

It was a dark and stormy night when 12 brave sisters in a three-car-caravan set out for Trinity, Alabama to see Chonda Piece live in her Getting Back to Funny Tour.  Chonda's testimony touches so many areas of each of our own lives with such utter transparency that is left us breathless.  Such an engaging show, from start to finish. Please enjoy a sampling of pure Chonda in the attached YouTube video. Thank you SO MUCH Deb Hudson for being our caravan leader down that dark, twisty, forest road during a truly wicked thunder storm.  Never a dull moment for the Sisterhood!

At our February meeting Lori Beasley was the hostess and also presented a wonderful program based on the scripture "Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill His promise to her!"  Luke 1:45  Great food, great fellowship, great lesson, great night!

Both Circles joined in to help Maranatha Church warming station and shelter from the recent snow. The Sisterhood Circle created goodie bags.

From the money members donated at our circle meeting, Chapman Blanton was able to make 30 goodie bags with a banana, 2 clementines, a bag of chips, a bag of cheezits, 2 granola bars, a bag of cookies, a little Debbie, some Hershey kisses and Reese's and 2 bottles of water! She was able to get 30 chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A all kept nice and warm in that cool plug in "hot box." Chapman said “I wish y'all could have seen the excitement on their faces when they all realized they got their own bag and that they were getting Chick-fil-A! Melted my heart! “
