Mission Action Day

Our UMW is participating in Mission Action Day. We are collecting school supplies to send to Upper Sand Mountain Parish. These items will be delivered to Camp Sumatanga on March 23. There is a box in the Easter Wing for you to leave your donations. If you have questions, contact Deb Hudson (205.300. 2702). Thank you for your support of this important UMW mission project. Items needed include: wide-ruled loose leaf paper, pencils, composition note-books, crayons, pencil sharpeners, index cards, col-ored pencils, 3-ring 1 inch binder, glue sticks, big pink erasers, Expo markers, pocket folders (with or without tabs), subject dividers, 3-ring 1 1/2 inch binder, bottles of glue, pencil top erasers, flat pencil bags (no boxes please).

Many thanks to the Walker County Sheriff's Department and especially Sheriff Underwood and Sgt. Capps for the excellent program they did for us on personal safety on May 7th.
Be aware.  Have a plan.  Act.

Lovely bridal shower for Sara Roberts, bride-elect of Bill Adams, son of Jim and Beth Adams on April 22, 2018.  Hostesses were Daisy Aldridge, Karen Bevill, Renee Goetz, Deborah Hudson, Mary Ann Seel and Charlene Stephenson.

UMW spearheaded a Hygiene Kit drive in answer to an appeal from UMCOR for help.  The church family's response was WONDERFUL and over 100 kits were blessed Palm Sunday, 2018 before being sent to UMCOR for distribution.  Our prayer is that every life that is touched by these few essential items will feel the presence of the Lord with them, be encouraged, and be blessed in their time of trial.

Welcome to Jasper First United Methodist Women!

Originally designed as a missionary society, we are indeed still that but oh, so much more. We are also fun-loving, encouraging, love-you-as-you-are, outreaching, learning, growing girlfriends! I want every woman I meet to be a part of this wonderful group because I know how much this “sisterhood” touches our members' lives. I personally can't wait for each monthly Circle meeting to catch up on what's going on with my friends!  Beyond that we are doing good things … raising money to benefit global and local missions with hands-on mission events as well.

The good news is it's open to everyone … you don't have to be a member of our church or even a Methodist to join! Circles meet once a month … the Mary-Martha circle meets in the morning and the Sisterhood Circle meets at night (dinner included) so everyone will have an opportunity to attend. If you need child care to attend a meeting, that can be arranged. If you need a ride, we can handle that too. This is such an awesome group of ladies, we just want everyone to be blessed by being able to be a part of it.

Visit our Circle pages for upcoming meeting dates and times. And please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Becoming part of this wonderful organization may be the nicest thing you do for yourself this year. Hope to see you there!!
