“ … A person is shown to be righteous through faithful actions …” James 2:24
Cherie Woodard has found many ways to show faith in action. Her career as Hospital Gift Shop Manager, from which she retired in 2002, focused on service. For the last 15 years she has assisted food bank applicants at the Salvation Army. Since joining our church in 1975, her involvement with UMW has included serving as Vice President, Recording Secretary, and currently as co-leader of the Mary-Martha Circle, also serving on the Executive Board in those capacities. She has been actively involved in fund raising, program planning, and other UMW events to help meet the organizations goal of serving women and children both locally and globally. Since Cherie is an avid world traveler, she has a greater appreciation of UMW contributions to global missions. Through the years, Cherie has found one of the greatest rewards from being a part of UMW is the friends she has made. Sharing joys and sorrows with other Christian women has created enduring friendships and the joy of coming together regularly with that precious circle of friends is indeed very much its own reward.
